Processing Information: Material in this collection was processed using AXAEM's Electronic Records Processing module, which incorporates Bagger as a way to package electronic files with technical metadata. Captured digital content was ingested into AXAEM, where ClamAV Anti-Virus software detected and cleaned any computer viruses. The cleaned files were saved on the Duke University Medical Center Archives' secure server with a regular backup schedule. Includes 18 files totaling 20 MB that are available for research: Accession A2021.042 (18 files totaling 20 MB).

Duke Med Pride is a student-led group consisting of LGBTQIA+ and allied students within the Duke University School of Medicine (DUSOM) that formed circa 2000. Duke Med Pride works to address the health issues of sexual and gender diverse peoples with a cohesive and holistic approach. Duke Med Pride's mission is to provide a supportive environment for sexual and gender diverse students, faculty, staff, and their allies. Duke Med Pride works to promote the visibility of the sexual & gender minority (SGM) community within the School of Medicine and Duke Health, hosts events that facilitate education around health issues relevant to SGM patients, and strives to create opportunities for intersectional activism and community building.
