A History of Duke's Hyperbaric Center: Talk by Dr. John J. Freiberger

Please join us on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at noon for a lecture by Dr. John J. Freiberger, “The Past and Present of the Duke University Hyperbaric Chamber.” The talk will be held in Room 102 of the Medical Center Library & Archives. This event is free and open to the public. Dr. Freiberger, M.D., M.P.H., is an Associate Professor of Anesthesiology at Duke and Director of the fellowship program at the Duke Center for Hyperbaric Medicine and Environmental Physiology. He is the first Executive Director of Duke Dive Medicine, the extreme environment and diving injury consultation service hosted at the Duke Chamber. In 2014 Dr. Freiberger received the Undersea & Hyperbaric Medical Society’s Craig Hoffman/Charles Shilling Award, given for an outstanding contribution to teaching, education, and/or diving safety.

Dr. Freiberger’s lecture is held in conjunction with the Medical Center Library & Archives exhibit, “Under Pressure: Hyperbaric Medicine at Duke,” which will be on display through the end of January.
