PHOTOGRAPHS

Prices are for wet-process photographic prints. (Reproductions of photos are normally made now from scans.) Use the "B&W Print" price if we have a negative. This is also the cost per print if the patron wants more than one copy of a print. The "Print+" price means a negative has the property of the Archives.

Poster prices include the scan, the print, and mounting on foamcore. These prices apply if we have a print to scan. If a print and/or negative has to be made, add the appropriate charge(s) from above. Mailing is available for unmounted prints ONLY. For mounted posters, specify if flush mounting or margins are wanted.

Copies are being provided under the "fair use" provision of US copyright law. Duke University will provide copies only for official University use or for use in the research or private study of the applicant. The copies may not be made for or donated to other repositories.
The material being copied is the sole and exclusive property of Duke University and may not be reproduced in any fashion or used for any purpose other than private scholarship without the express written consent of Duke University.
Commercial or non-commercial publication and use are covered by a separate usage agreement. "Publication" is understood to encompass film, television or radio broadcast, as well as distribution in paper, audio, video, and/or electronic form. The Medical Center Archives will make selected archival material available for publication on a non-exclusive basis. The Archives reserves the right to refuse requests and may negotiate a separate and unique contract (including royalty agreements) for large projects or for valuable or unique resources.
